This book commences by introducing the principles of oxidative stress, providing a historical perspective on the early pioneers of oxidative stress, and elucidating the fundamental principles of biochemical and molecular biology related to signaling pathways and biomarkers. This chapter also provides an explanation of differential diagnosis and a brief description of the use of diagnostic imaging.
